14U World Series Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2

Evan Haeger (2023, New Hudson, MI) was mentioned in the opening day recap for his abilities with the stick and it was more of the same on day three as he set the tempo of the offense for the Motor City Hit Dogs who pulled out their first pool play victory. Athletically built with a lean and twitchy 6-1, 170 pound frame, the young Alabama commit enjoyed a 2 for 3 day at the plate with a pair of triples. His swing is as quick through the zone as it is direct to the ball, showing rhythm and fluidity to his load and a natural feel for the barrel. In his second at-bat of the game Haeger managed to get the barrel extended enough as he sliced a fastball down the left field line just out of reach for the diving left fielder which allowed the Michigan native to turn it on from first to third once the ball was down. If one triple is good, then two is better as he turned around an inner half fastball for another three bagger, this time into the right field corner. The twitch in his frame plays well on the bases as well; he stole a pair and came around to score three times and proved to play a pivotal role in the come back victory.
