Memorial Day weekend, for most Americans, marks the beginning of summer. Vacations. Fun in the sun. Lazy days spent outside. The fact that so many folks have been cooped up over the course of the past year-plus due to the COVID restrictions, this Memorial Day takes on more significance than in year’s past.

For many fast pitch softball families who also saw their time at the ballpark reduced or eliminated for the past year and a half, the last full weekend in May this year, marks a return to some normalcy. Softball action will take place in abundance at many venues around the country this year as Perfect Game continues to impact the fast pitch softball world, offering tournaments to all age groups and competition levels around the country.

The Kansas City metro area will find over 85 teams invading the region to participate in the PG Memorial Day “Swing for the Rings” tournament. Five age groups and four divisions, from 8U-Open to 18U A/B levels, will compete for various championships in what promises to be a fun-filled weekend highlighted by spirited and enthusiastic play.

George Poston Park in Gastonia, N.C. will play host to the PG Memorial Day Invitational that will see action at the 12U, 14U, and 18U levels in what will undoubtedly be a great weekend of top competition.

The 11th annual Jim Lowry Memorial Tournament will take place in the St. Louis metro area at Wapelhorst Park in suburban St. Charles, Mo. Five competitive divisions from 10U-B to 18U-B will participate for the coveted PG silver crown and championship banner.

Finally, Burlington, Iowa will see a highly competitive 14U field playing for the “Kiss the Cup” crown in a PG National Qualifier tournament at the Burlington Regional Rec Plex. This always-entertaining and highly competitive age group always finds top-flight action played at a high level and this weekend promises to be no different.

With well over 150 teams participating in four regions across the country this Memorial Day, Perfect Game will continue to offer only the very best in competition and playing venues to the softball community. This weekend marks only the beginning, as the nation’s largest and most comprehensive scouting organization will enthusiastically strive to make inroads into the fast pitch softball world. Great things are on the horizon for the many young players, organizations, and teams that participate in Perfect Game events not only this summer, but well into the future.
