17u WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2

Getting the day started over at Dawson County High was outfielder Gavin Greger (2022, Bristol, Conn.) who led the day off with a bang as he deposited a home run over the left centerfield fence. He’s a fast twitched outfielder with good size at a listed 6-foot-1, 184-pounds and lots of room to add strength to the build. The path is short and quick through the ball with fast hands, fluidity to the barrel head, and a swing plane geared towards lofting the ball to both sides. The UCONN commit later added a single back through the middle and his wheels allow him to be a threat on the base paths. There’s centerfield projection as he reads the ball well and moves athletically but the story here was the pop to the opposite field gap that he showed as he got his hands fuly extended on a mid-80s fastball.

Stars baseball showed some talented arms over at Brook Run as Jack O’Connor (2022, Arlington, Va.) and James Tallon (2022, Arlington, Va.) showed a lot of things to like.
