Iowa Select Dubuque 2025 Hummel unloaded an offensive barrage on DRBA Clemens 25, smashing 12 hits and three home runs en route to a 12-2 victory. Cooper Hummel (2025, Cascade, Iowa) was seeing the ball extremely well today, to say the least, as the left-handed hitting first baseman smashed two home runs on the day. Both were absolute no-doubters to the pull side, and for good measure, he also added a triple that landed on the warning track. Hummel does a great job of creating separation within the load and making contact out front, and he gets the barrel turned over with authority. He has obviously shown no issue elevating to right field, and his exciting power potential was made evident today. The freshman stands at a physical 6-foot, 190 pounds, and he should only continue to get stronger over the next few years. The primary left-handed pitcher also started on the bump in this one, tossing 3 2/3 innings of no-hit ball. He sat 77-80 mph from the left side and struck out nine opposing batters. It’s safe to say that Hummel has a power arm and bat, and he has definite upside on both sides of the ball.
