Jake Sampson (2023, Auburn, Ala) has a decent frame with a coiling, high leg kick delivery. The slightly unorthodox windup adds some deception making the fastball (77-81 mph) really pop out of a high three-quarters slot. Fastball showed short arm-side life and was most effective running back to the outer third. Breaker (63-69) was round with a really solid spin rate for the velocity the offering presents (2388 rpm). He landed it at will multiple times early or behind in the count, and the pitch showed quality depth and occasional sharpness when he really snapped it off late in counts.
