Among the 2025 standouts from the weekend, No. 12 ranked Texas prospect Caldwell McFaddin (2025, Magnolia, Texas) continues to produce across the board as he piled up six hits while showing off the immense defensive upside and pitchability through six games. In a tough semifinals loss, his impact on both sides of the game was exceptional posting three hits with a late home run and five innings of work on the mound with no earned runs allowed. An overpowering presence on the mound with a firm mid- to upper-80s fastball working the zone and promising secondary playing off it, the arm works well and operation is fluid, utilizing his athleticism efficiently. McFaddin’s approach at the plate is mature and shows feel for timing and the zone, the hit is outstanding and is consistently finding barrels week-to-week with flashes of power to the pull side including the no-doubter sent over the left field wall on a breaking ball. In the corner infield his glove is advanced, working soft at first with easy movements around the bag, while the quality arm strength carries well-above average across the diamond with clean actions ranging to both sides at third. Very athletic in all aspects, he runs well on the bags and handles the bat with impressive young strength. Strong competitor and makes it easy to project on his tools rising to the top of the class.
