There wasn’t a more impressive offensive performance on the weekend than what Luke Ekdall (2023, Montgomery, Texas) turned in and he was deservingly awarded MVP honors because of it. To put it simply, he just flat out raked and did so against a large variety of arms, many of which were very talented. It’s an athletic profile and he oozes confidence in the box, checking a lot of components for a plug-and-play type hitter at the next level in terms of his rhythm, overall quality of bat speed and just consistency in which he finds the barrel while having real room to add strength in the long-term. He’s a fun hitter to watch and he racked up nine hits while reaching base an impressive 13 times across six games, just a ridiculous performance in this kind of an event.
