Golden Spikes Baseball Academy is the premier baseball organization for the development of young ballplayers in the Sacramento region. Our coaching staff uses cutting edge 21st Century techniques that will measurably strengthen your player's skill set. At the same time, our drills and workouts will ensure he maintains his athletic health by employing the latest advances in arm and body maintenance. Led by former Major League catcher Bret Hemphill, the Golden Spikes Baseball Academy team is made up entirely of former professional and collegiate players, all of whom have been coaching at the youth level for many years.
We hold quarterly open tryouts for our competitive tournament teams, always striving to fill our rosters with the most committed and determined young players in the area. We are successful at the tournament level throughout our organization at all age levels. Click HERE to check out our latest results. At the same time, we believe that every player -- regardless of his or her development level -- can benefit from working with our academy. It is our goal to make sure your player has every opportunity to "play at the next level."
In addition to our tournament teams -- which are all managed by our paid coaching staff -- we offer the following:
- Personal Instruction
- Youth Skills Classes
- High School Training
- Comprehensive week-long camps for all skill levels
- High Level Skill Specific Clinics
- Station-based Intensive Weekly Open Workouts
- At Golden Spikes Baseball we also take the time to explain the "why". All too often, we as coaches explain "what to do" and "how to do it" but pass by the "why we do it". We want to empower players with the knowledge and energy to achieve great things and watch them take off.
