Wagner is big, real big, strong lefty with a MLB fastball. He showed great command of all his pitches in Ft Myers, pretty much dominating some top hitting prospects. His fastball runs pretty good and he keeps everything down. His breaking ball shows excellent rotation, but he needs to throw it a bit harder than the high 60s. His changeup is another promising pitch, but once again could be thrown with more velocity. He gets good leverage, but we actually liked his arm action and mechanics better when we saw him as a sophomore. With some good tinkering, there's a big league lefty in there. We think he might throw mid 90s with a plus breaking ball down the road. With his body, the type of command and arm strength he showed in Ft Myers, scouts have to get very interested. If he puts it all together this Spring he could go very early in June. To us he's a cinch draft because he'll probably end up at a JUCO. If so you can't afford to pass him by in the draft.
