Rodriguez, Sean- We’ve seen Sean many times. He probably has one of the best IF/OF arms in the 2003 class. He usually runs close to average. He flashes plus power at times. In Ft. Myers, he missed the 60, the throwing and batting practice due to his father’s car problems. He was able to play in the games where he looked better than ever. He made one throw from the hole that had Big league written all over it. For anyone who had never seen him throw before, that throw would have been a real eye opener. During one pre-game infield, Rodriguez put on a full display of his immense ability. He also looked good at the plate, and it was nice to see him smoke some line drives to RF and CF. In the past, he has sometimes appeared to be a little pull power happy. Luis Montanez and David Espinosa were recent Miami HS SS’s selected in the 1st round. I think we like Sean just as much if not more than those guys. He comes from a baseball family, he’s a baseball player, and appears to have great make-up. Signed early with Florida International.
