Joseph Leftridge is a 2007 right hand hitting outfielder from Duncanville HS, residing in Dallas, TX. He has a 6'0" 170 lb. frame that is lean, athletic, and strong, with fast twitch body composition. Leftridge is one of the most physically talented players in the '07 class and ranked #13 among the 2006 PG National Top 100 position players. His future development potential is well beyond his current day skill level, which is quite good. Leftridge sets up at the plate with a squared stance and during his swing he maintains good balance. He hits with a no-stride lower half approach and showed good timing. His swing is easy and his hand speed is a plus. Leftridge is a line drive contact hitter. He stayed in the middle of the field and showed the ability to spray the ball with some power that will continue to develop. Roaming centerfield, Leftridge showed plus range and the ability to flat out go and get it. His arm rates as strong average, up to 85 mph from the outfield. Overall his run and throw tools fit very well in centerfield. Speaking of the run tool, he posted a 6.46 60 yard time. Leftridge is a premium D1 prospect and will also draw upper round draft consideration.
