Kasey Kiker is a 2006 left handed pitcher from Phenix City, AL with a solid build at 5-11, 185 lbs. Kiker has a smooth, easy arm action with very good arm speed. He has some effort in his delivery but hides the ball very well and is very deceptive to hitters. Kiker has gradually increased the velocity on his fastball over the past year and now throws 92 mph regularly, with explosive life in the zone. His best pitch is an 80 mph change up that he maintains excellent arm speed and on gets very good sinking life in the strike zone. It's a big league pitch right now and if anything Kiker has too much confidence in it and throws it too often. Kiker's 75 mph curveball is his third pitch but would qualify as most pitcher's top weapon. It has sharp downer action and good power to it. Kiker understands how to pitch and mix things up and when he's throwing strikes and in a rhythm he is very, very difficult to hit. He's one of the top pitching prospects in the 2006 class. Kiker is a solid student off the field and has signed with South Alabama.
