Elvin Soto is a 2011 C with a 6-0 188 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends Xaverian HS. Strong compact athletic build. Very good defensive tools, quick and agile lower half, receives comfortably, quick exchange, good arm strength, 1.80 drill pop, 1.98 game pop, consistent 1.9-2.0 between innings. Switch-hitter, better from the right side at present, very good bat speed, line drive swing, quick hands, stays on the ball, uses his strength. Longer swing left handed, wider approach, swings hard, some bat speed to develop but behind for now. Top level prospect. Good student, verbal commitment to Arizona.
