2010 Canadian Top Prospect Showcase
Eric Wood is a 2010 RHP/3B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Pickering, ON who attends Pickering. Strong physically mature build, uses strength well. Changed speeds well and threw with a loose easy delivery. Hides the ball well and showed a big 11-5 Curveball with good tilt and a solid Changeup. Very impressive at the plate, consistently punished the baseball and followed up a strong showing in BP with an even more impressive showing in games. Routinely driving balls up the middle with exit speeds off the bat that registered in the upper 80s and low 90s showed a lot of strength at the plate. Showed he is ready to compete at the next level as both a position player and a pitcher.
