Alexander Fernandez is a 2011 2B/OF/RHP with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Cooper City, FL who attends Archbishop McCarthy HS. Small compact build with present strength. Versatile athlete with baseball skills. Very clean, fundamental balanced actions in both the infield/outfield, tools profile best to 2B but can play anywhere on the field, soft hands, throws carry. Tall stance hitting, short balanced load, simple quick line drive swing, good flow through contact, squares it up well. Also pitched, low 80's fastball topped at 84 mph, big running life, big breaking ball from 3/4's release point, nice feel for change up, can really mix it up and be deceptive with WBA velocity. Baseball player. Son of former ML pitcher Alex Fernandez. Good student.
