Riccio Torrez is a 2008 2B/3B with a 6'0'', 190 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Brophy College Prep. He has a strong, mature build with good present strength. Torrez is a fluid defensive player whose feet work very well moving laterally, which puts him in position to field balls cleanly and with balance. He has a feel for playing defense and plays with ease. His arm is plenty strong enough for second base. Offensively, Torrez hits from a quiet load and fairly still start. He attacks the ball hard and has bat speed. Torrez is looking to pull the ball and his effort on his swing often leaves him off balance. The ball jumps off his bat hard, though and he has some power to all fields. A bit better trigger to start his swing could help him and he has the tools to hit at a high level.
