Richard Sullivan is a 6'3", 225 lb. left handed pitcher/first baseman from Louisville, Kentucky. On the mound he shows a range of 79-84 mph with his fastball, a 68 mph curveball, and a 67 mph change up. He did a good job of staying low in the strike zone with his fastball. Richard's curveball was inconsistent in game action, but he threw some much sharper ones in the bullpen. He throws with a low elbow release with a slight pushing motion with very little front side involvement in his delivery. If he smoothed out his mechanics and got more of his big, strong body behind the ball, Richard would be able to improve his fastball velocity and coaches everywhere take note of 6'4" lefties who throw in the mid to upper-80s. Richard showed some raw bat speed during batting practice. He pulls off very early and hits around the ball, but can probably hit the ball a long way with metal on the right pitch.
