Barnes is a 2005 LHP/1B from Chicopee, MA with a tall, lanky pitcher's body at 6'3"/170 pounds. He might be the top left-handed arm in the northeast. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long backside and an arm that works. His fastball was 84-87 with good tail and he backed that up with a sharp CB at 71 mph that was the best in the event. He struck out 4 of the 6 batters he faced in the games. At the plate, he has an easy, fluid swing with a good bat-path and good weight transfer. He showed his strength and athleticism with a 380 foot triple in the game. Big time player to watch in 2005.
