2012 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Ryan McCarvel is a 2013 C/OF/3B with a 6-3 177 lb. frame from Moreno Valley, CA who attends Canyon Springs HS. Outstanding athletic build, projects very well, good present strength. Excellent raw arm strength behind the plate, long arm but 1.89 best pop time, not consistent with footwork/mechanics but easily corrected, shows athleticism in all actions. Right handed hitter, big bat speed, loose extension out front, will get long at times, ball jumps hard off the barrel, projects easy plus power. 7.03 runner, has the athletic ability to play all over the field defensively. Skills still developing but has very high level physical tools.
