Coby Roddy is a 2015 RHP/OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Orange, TX who attends Little Cypress-Mauriceville HS. Lean athletic build, room to get stronger. Medium length arm action, tight 3/4's release point, tends to open front side early on delivery and loose direction on release, some energy to delivery. Mid 80's fastball, topped at 87 mph, have seen up to 90 mph previously, fastball gets good arm side run when he stays closed and gets the ball down in the zone. Curveball is his best pitch, has big power and hard spin up to 78 mph, gets deep 11/5 to 12/6 shape at times, curveball also a better pitch when he stays closed at release. Has two quality pitches if he can refine his delivery and release. Very good student.
