Patrick Mitchell is a 2015 RHP/1B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Miramar, FL who attends American Heritage HS. Medium athletic build, has some strength in his hips and lower half. Sound pitching mechanics with a good pace to his delivery, full clean arm circle, high 3/4's arm slot with good downhill angle. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, very consistent velocity, mostly straight with occasional arm side run. Throws both a curveball and a slider, slider is the better pitch with tighter spin and some bite, curveball tends to hang. Flashed a developing change up. Pounded the strike zone and proved he could mix pitches. Right handed hitter, lift and replace leg raise trigger, inside swing approach and tends to hit under the ball, handles the barrel well and makes spray line drive contact. Excellent student.
