Quentin Holmes is a 2017 OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from East Elmhurst, NY who attends Monsignor McClancy Memorial HS. High waisted long limbed build, very projectable physically. Top of the charts speed, 6.15 in the sixty, 3.99 home to first from the right side while not getting out of the box quickly, speed has a big impact on the game. Very athletic and easy in the outfield, has huge range in all directions, arm strength is playable and can improve with more lower half use. Right handed hitter, simple swing approach, gets to his front side early from a wide base, handles the barrel well and makes contact early in counts, flashes some gap pop off the bat which should keep growing with strength. Fascinating athlete with a high ceiling. Very good student, verbal commitment to Mississippi State. Selected for the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
