2016 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Thatcher Burns is a 2017 LHP/OF/1B with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Ballwin, MO who attends Marquette HS. Tall and slender build, minimal present strength. Multi-piece arm action in back leading to an over the top release slot coming through, cross body landing out front. Upper 60's fastball, topped out at 68 mph, mostly straight with good downhill angle. Primary fastball pitcher, threw a rare soft curveball and change up. Has been steady mid to upper 70's at multiple WWBA tournaments in the past two years so something wasn't right this outing. Good student.
