Frank Vesuvio is a 2016 OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Armonk, NY who attends Byram Hills HS. Slender athletic build with some wiry present strength. 6.63 runner, moves well in the outfield and shows lots of range, plays defense with energy, lower release slot throwing and would benefit by getting on top of the ball better, has plenty of raw arm strength. Right handed hitter, late leg raise makes foot late frequently, swings hard and attacks the ball, short rotational swing with some uphill plane, lots of energy in the swing but lacks present fluidity and timing, has the hitting tools to keep improving. Two-way prospect, long and loose arm action on the mound, very good arm speed, delivery has some energy and deception but he repeats it well, 3/4's arm slot. Upper 80's fastball with nice heavy sinking life down in the zone, quality change up with arm speed and nice fading action, tight slider with sharp biting action and tilt, shows feel for his pitches. Very good athlete who plays with energy, development with the bat will be key to his future. Good student, verbal commitment to West Virginia.
