Thomas Caneday is a 2020 RHP/OF with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Lemon Grove, CA who attends Helix HS. Nice athletic build with good present strength and more to come. 3/4's arm slot with a medium length takeaway, stays balanced in his delivery well. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, likes working to the glove side with his fastball with some cutting action, also threw some 2-seamers with good sinking action, throws strikes with his fastball and keeps it out of the middle of the plate. Slider was his best breaking ball, uses it as his late count pitch with some 10/4 depth. Tends to raise arm slot on a 12/6 curveball and tip the pitch. Threw strikes and had an idea what he was doing on the mound. Should continue to improve as he matures physically. Excellent student.
