Malique Ziegler is a 2014 OF/ with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends East. Ziegler has a medium sized frame with a lean athletic build. He is a plus runner at 6.65 in the 60 yard dash and the straight line speed transfers to his play in game. Defensively Ziegler has good footwork to the baseball in the outfield with solid actions. He has some arm strength up to 84 MPH with some carry on his throws. At the plate, Ziegler starts with an open stance and uses a toe tap trigger to start his swing. He generates good bat speed and swings on a line drive path. Ziegler profiles well at the lead off spot and takes a solid hack. He made consistent hard contact and showed solid tools across the board. Northern Illinois commit who is a good student. Named to Top Prospect Team.
