Max Holmes is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Jacksonville, FL who attends Providence HS. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and present strength throughout body, strong lower half with additional room to fill out. Ran a 7.12 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, balanced actions moving to the ball, loose arm action coming through the ball with deliberate pace to actions, on line and accurate throws with present strength and carry to intended base. Also pitched, small rock set into delivery with full hands over head path at start. Works from a high three-quarters arm slot and is able to generate heavy life to fastball low in the zone that gets on hitter quick up to 83 mph. Has rhythm and tempo to delivery, occasionally gets down the mound early.Slider shows sweeping action at 78 mph with short tilting life and maintains arm speed. Righthanded hitter, does a really nice job of shifting weight through swing and incorporating lower half. Gets the barrel through the zone and strength plays well at contact, bat plays at present and shows potential. Best contact comes to pull side with hard jump off the barrel. Excellent student.
