Zachary Walz is a 2015 OF/IF/RHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Grand Forks, ND who attends Central HS. Medium, athletic build with a lean, projectable frame and room to fill out with added strength. Ran a 7.01 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows smooth, athletic actions with quick feet and a sound first step. Quick exchange on throws that show strength across. Strong throws from the outfield with carry and accuracy, solid actions to the ball and works behind it with a short arm action. Also pitched, throws from a low three-quarter arm slot with a smooth and repeatable delivery. Commands the zone and mixes well, topped at 81 mph with running action on fastball and a sweeping slider at 69 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high hand set and an upright stance. Short and quick bat path to the ball and keeps hands in through swing. Gets to front side early at times but shows a feel for the barrel with consistent contact up the middle. Outstanding student.
