Justin Ledgerwood is a 2017 3B/1B with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Alpine, CA who attends Christian HS. Ledgerwood has an athletic build with present strength. Hits from an open stance with a high hand set. Has present strength in bat and showed power with home run during game. Solid bat speed with a gap to gap approach and solid barrel skills. Line drive swing plane with lift and good leverage using lower half. Defensively, primary 3B and has arm strength and build to stay there. Good actions with glove and stays balanced fielding the ball. Has clean transfer and release. From 1B, shows good footwork around base with clean transfer. Has tools to stay at either corner spot. Also pitched, High 3/4 arm slot with good extension, has effort in delivery and uses mostly arm to create power, more velocity will come with lower half drive. Mixed in curveball with 11/5 spin and a change up with good sink at plate. Verbally committed to San Diego. Named to Top Prospect List. Outstanding Student.
