Pierce Levinthal is a 2021 LHP/OF with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Sour Lake, TX who attends Monsignor Kelly. Strong athletic build, especially in the lower half. Simple turn and throw mechanics with a small gather at the top, maintains his direction to the plate very well, compact arm action that hides the ball well. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, mostly straight with occasional glove side cutting action, tries to work to spots and has good command of his fastball, has worked consistently in the low 80's up to 85 mph at PG events this past summer. Creates good spin on his curveball, flashes some depth, had better command of his fastball than his curveball this day. Rare change up that can be developed. Has the ingredients to be a crafty left type if he can improve his secondary pitches. Has athletic actions in the outfield and good carry on his throws when he stays on top of the ball. Right handed hitter, gets out front early in his swing and will get off balance at times, even to downhill swing plane with a middle of the field approach, has the strength to impact the ball when he stays back and squares the ball.
