Franco Velasquez is a 2016 RHP with a 5-10 190 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Felix Varela Senior HS. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a strong, mature build. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from a three-quarter arm slot and a shows a smooth and repeatable delivery. Compact arm action coming through the back side, hides the ball well and creates deception in delivery. Good command of fastball, shows ability to spot to both sides of the plate with life to arm side, topping at 84 mph, straightens when up in zone. Tight rotation on curveball, shows 11-5 life with downward plane and solid depth. Mixed both pitches well. Good student.
