Hayes Heinecke is a 2018 LHP/1B with a 6-0 210 lb. frame from Fayetteville, GA who attends Starrs Mill High School. Medium, broad shouldered build with present strength proportioned nicely throughout frame. Ran a 7.95 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, shows nice tempo to delivery and competes on the mound, ball comes out of hand cleanly and lives down in the zone from a fluid three-quarters arm slot. Lands on line with lower half and fills up the strike zone, topped out at 84 mph with riding life through the zone, comes out easy and projects for more. Creates extension out front, can induce weak ground ball contact, curveball shows 1-7 shape with tilting life, nice feel for the pitch up to 70 mph. Mixed well and aggressive within the zone. Shows arm strength across the diamond at first base, fields the ball cleanly and shows flexibility to actions, shows accuracy to throws across the diamond when on top of the ball. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a narrow stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Uses a quick leg lift trigger for timing, shows bat speed through the zone and incorporates physical strength well at the point of contact. Looks to create lift out front and separation, shows nice balance out front and jump off of the barrel when on time to the pull side. Very good student. Named to Southeast Underclass Top Prospect List.
