Christian Roa is a 2017 RHP with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Memorial HS. Roa has a large frame with a projectable build. He pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action. His arm works well and the ball comes out of his hand clean. Roa has arm speed and he pitches with lower effort. He uses a high leg lift and gets closed at balance point and works slightly across his body down the mound. He gets some cut action on his fastball and located it well down in the zone. Roa alo threw an 11/5 curveball with some spin and shape. He threw it for strikes and he showed some feel for it. Roa also threw a change up at 82 MPH with some sink on it. He's an interesting arm for the 2017 class with upside. Very good student.
