Matthew Butigian is a 2017 2B/1B, 3B with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Plainview, NY who attends Plainview-Old Bethpage High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.82 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front, moves well on feet and gets behind the ball before working through it nicely, full arm action coming through the back, opens front side early on throws at times, shows carry on throws across when on top of the ball, remains balanced while charging in. Righthanded hitter, hands starts pull back behind shoulder, uses a high leg lift trigger at start for timing to swing. Contact approach in the box, full swing coming through the zone and looks to create contact out front. Linear swing path with line drive contact coming off the barrel, creates steady contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Good stduent.
