Joe Norton is a 2016 C/3B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Cranford, NJ who attends Cranford. Medium, athletic build with present strength on frame and projects to get stronger with room to fill out. Ran a 7.13 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, compact arm action and gets on top of throws, low takeaway with a quick transfer, longer release with present strength on accurate throws, gets tall at release, 1.97 best pop time. Short arm circle in the back with a loose and whippy arm action across the infield, shows solid present arm strength and ability to make throw off back foot with nice carry. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high hand set and keeps hands in through swing. Short and quick path to the ball with upper body swing. Line drive swing path with contact barrel feel and line drive contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Creates extension out front occasionally while showing a nice contact approach at the plate. Very good student.
