Jacob Edwards is a 2022 LHP/1B with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Marysville, OH who attends Marysville. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and young look, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.64 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, shows tempo to delivery with a side step moving into a higher leg lift up above belt, gets tall on backside with a hip turn at top. Compact arm action through the backside working to a a three-quarters release point; generates extension out front with short running life to arm side, topped out at 77 mph. Creates occasional cut from release point at times, pitched to contact and settled in well while missing bats. Short curveball with 1-7 shape and tight rotation up to 64 mph, flashed a changeup at 63 mph. Fields the ball out front in the infield, full arm stroke and gets on top of throws well with accuracy to intended base, aggressive off the bag with shorter steps on the charge. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a wide and even stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Short load with hands at start of swing, linear path with quickness to hands and barrel. Utilizes a toe tap trigger, stays inside the ball, some pre-pitch movement, worked the pull side. Very good student.
