2019 Ohio Valley Prospect Showcase
Andrew Patrick is a 2021 SS/RHP, 3B, OF with a 6-4 170 lb. frame from Columbus, OH who attends Hilliard Darby. Large frame with long limbs and an athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.51 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with fluid, polished footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Clean glove actions and worked through exchange well. Released from a three-quarters slot producing accurate, on line carry to the bag at 84 mph. Right handed hitter with a slightly crouched, open stance and simple leg lift trigger. Created linear shift into contact with lower half. Clean, fluid hand path to baseball with a naturally leveraged barrel plane. Displayed good feel for the barrel with present bat speed. Consistently drove the baseball with intent to the middle of the field and pull side gap. Also pitched utilizing a side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays balanced on back side at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a three quarters slot. Fastball created solid downhill plane through the zone with occasional run in the low to mid 80's, topped at 86 mph. Curveball showed 10/5 shape with solid spin and good depth when maintaining arm speed through extension. Excellent student. Named to the 2019 Ohio Valley Prospect Showcase, Top Prospect List.
