Luvin Valbuena is a 2015 C with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Maracaibo Venezuela, VE who attends Occidental Deportiva. Valbuena has a medium athletic build that fits for a catcher. Hits from a slightly open stance, balanced swing with good barrel control in hitting zone. Smooth hands to ball and little effort to swing. Shows good gap to gap line drive contact. Defensively, had top pop time at the event with a 1.84 and was best overall defensive catcher. Has very quick feet, transfer and release. Gets momentum to 2nd base and has a very quick arm and arm whip. Has tools to be top level defender. Outstanding Student. Named to Top Prospect List.
