Hunter Mason is a 2016 RHP/OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Boerne, TX who attends Boerne - Samuel V Champion. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable frame with room to fill out. Ran a 7.07 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, works from a high three-quarter arm slot, will occasionally drop down to three-quarters with a full arm swing through the back. Side step into leg lift just above belt, slight hip turn at top of delivery. Shows arm speed coming through the zone, topped out at 83 mph with fastball, flashed life and showed ability to work glove side. Curveball shows 12-6 shape with depth at 61 mph, offers different look on slider from lower slot. Also flashed a CH at 71 mph. Moves well to the ball in the outfield, full arm action through the back with easy release, small crow hop to gain momentum, comes out well and projects. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance and high back elbow. Upper body swing, short path to ball with occasional lift at contact. Creates line drive contact, has length to swing but gets barrel through, contact to all fields. Very good student.
