Edgar Cruz is a 2017 SS/3B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Blandon, PA who attends Fleetwood HS. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a long and projectable build with room to fill, has present strength now. Ran a 7.08 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front, hands works well out at the ball and show softness, gets tall at release, full arm action on throws across and gets on top well, shows accuracy with carry to first base. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box, slightly open stance. Occasionally gets to front side early but stays short and direct to the ball with swing path, hands stay tight and inside throughout, contact approach at the plate and can execute. Line drive swing plane and able to create line drive contact to all fields, repeats swing, shows some carry to the opposite field. Has tools and projects with slight adjustments. Good student.
