Luke Lowry is a 2016 OF/1B with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Kirkwood, MO who attends Kirkwood HS. Large frame with plus present strength. Plus strength and bat speed with simple, compact mechanics to contact. Solid barrel control with a mid field approach. Extended power to both gaps. Showed big time pop and power potential in BP. Swings with intent and looks to drive the baseball every at bat. Hitting tools project. Worked out defensively from the outfield. Mechanical, clean mechanics while closing on the baseball. Fields clean out front with a deliberate actions through transition. Long arm action with an extended release. Topped at 79 mph from the outfield. Good student. Named to 2016 National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List. Verbal commit to Iowa Western Community College.
