Matthew Hayek is a 2020 RHP/1B with a 6-1 235 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Charlotte Catholic School. Recorded a 7.65 second 60-yard dash time. Extra large frame with broad shoulders and lots of present physicality. Primary first baseman with good range and soft hands. Glove works well with arm strength recorded up to 76 mph with accurate throws across. Solid arm speed and bounces off the bag well. Righthanded hitter with a wide base, medium hand set, and a simple trigger into the swing. Flashes some strength to the pull side. Longer swing at times but allows him to increase his loft and power potential. Good student.
