Griffin Gonzales is a 2019 C/OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Highland Mills, NY who attends Don Bosco Prep. Medium frame with a lean build and wiry strength. Projects for additional strength while continued physical maturity. Ran a 6.89 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a low, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground with heel click lower half actions. Clean, smooth paced exchanges and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Throws produced accurate carry to the bag topping at 75 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.15. Right handed hitter with an upright event stance and large leg lift trigger. Lower half works to baseball with rotational actions and occasional shift. Hands stay compact to body at load and launch to baseball on a direct path with slight lift through extension. Looked to drive the baseball between the gaps with developing feel for the barrel. When on time and squared, flashed good bat speed and strength at contact that generated solid jump off the barrel. Good student as well.
