Tommy Benson is a 2019 SS/RHP with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Crown Point, IN who attends IMG Academy. Strong athletic build with upper and lower body strength. Ran a 7.11 second sixty yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary infielder. Flashed the ability to work around the ball with long athletic strides and smooth confident glove actions. Displayed good range to both sides of the infield with quick hands and transfers to go along with good arm strength topping out at 89 miles per hour across the infield. Switch hitter. From the left side employs a narrow open stance with a quick leg lift trigger. Utilizes a inside hand path to the ball with quickness in the hands as well. Showed a high intent middle to pull side line drive approach with consistent loud line drives throughout batting practice. From the right side utilizes a slightly open stance with a short leg lift trigger. Employs a rotational gap to gap approach with good power to both gaps in the outfield. During games showed the ability to drive the ball with two loud base hits. Great student. North Alabama commit. Named to the 2019 National Pre-Draft showcase Top Prospect List.
