Zach Sharp is a 2020 3B/RHP/MIF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Olympia, WA who attends North Thurston. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Primary third baseman with sound footwork while moving to and surrounding the baseball. Clean glove actions and worked through exchange with deliberate actions. Released from a three-quarters arm slot and created stiff, accurate carry to the bag at 85 mph. Also worked out defensively from the outfielder showing smooth footwork to close with fluid glove actions at pick up. Showed good arm strength from the outfield as well creating accurate carry to the bag at 85 mph. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and toe tap trigger. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Loose hand path and utilized a linear barrel plane. Looked to attack the baseball with intent and flashed good strength at contact. Created tight backspin off the barrel with good carry to the gaps when squared. Also pitched utilizing a side step to medium leg lift delivery. Worked to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Quick arm circle and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball generated good downhill plane with some run to arm side in the low to mid 80's, topped at 85 mph. Curveball created 10/5 shape with solid spin and occasional depth. Consistently attacked the strike zone and challenged hitters inducing weak contact. Good student.
