Blaydon Plain is a 2022 1B/RHP, 3B, OF with a 6-4 190 lb. frame from Greenville, FL who attends Madison County. Ran a 6.78 second 60 yard dash. On the mound as a righthanded pitcher, he starts with a simple turn into his delivery, uses a full arm action working on top of the fastball at 89-90 mph with life through the zone as he commanded it to both sides of the plate with intent, mixed in a slider with tight spin showing some tilt, does a nice job of staying tall on the back side before creating good drive down the mound while maintaining a good line to the plate, was able to fill up the zone creating weak contact early in counts. Worked out in the outfield as well, showed smooth footwork into a power crow hop with a strong arm throwing 92 mph from the outfield. At first base, fields with a wide base, showed a full arm action with a strong arm throwing 91 mph across the diamond. Lefthanded hitter, starts with a balanced slightly open stance, use a leg lift trigger, showed the ability to create natural lift on the ball with the ability to repeat mechanics at a high rate, does a nice job of getting the barrel to the ball, ball really jumps off the bat. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to Florida.
