Enrico Veach is a 2024 SS/RHP with a 5-4 113 lb. frame from Springfield, IL who attends Springfield. Young square shouldered frame, lean and projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran an 8.40 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front and shows softness to hands and actions with glove, longer strides on the move, repeats well, quick transfer and release, works through the backhand well, arm strength and carry will develop with added stretch. Also pitched, compact delivery on the mound, leg lift up past belt with a full arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 68 mph, worked around the zone and pitched ahead in count; pitched to contact and flashed a changeup at 62 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and lower back elbow at the plate, uses a gliding front foot for timing into contact. Shows a feel for the barrel and repeats mechanics well while generating extension out front. Occasional lift to path, shows comfort working to pull side, projects with strength.
