Matt Poling is a 2020 RHP/2B, SS with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Leeton, MO who attends Clinton Sr.. Ran a 7.41 second sixty-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher with a medium frame and slender build. Starts from the windup, with a small side step into a belt high leg lift, staying tall at gather before going into drop and drive actions down the mound. Has deliberate mechanics through the entire delivery, and has a quick arm that comes from a three-quarter slot before generating good extension over the front side. Attacks hitters with a fastball that has room ride through the zone at 78-to-80 miles per hour, and flashes feel to spin a sharp breaking ball with 11-5 shape and big, down hill depth at 70 miles per hour. Secondary second baseman, that moves well to round the baseball and shows impressive range to the glove side. Has some present arm strength from an over the top slot, delivering accurate throws across the diamond at 80 miles per hour. Has an upright and even stance from the right side of the plate, with a high hand set and toe tap trigger at load. Shows developing bat speed, with a line drive barrel plane on way to recording an 86 mile per hour exit velocity.
