Nick Sturino is a 2021 SS/2B with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from New Milford, CT who attends Canterbury. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 6.99 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, works through the ball well and shows active footwork, athleticism plays in actions, light footwork and hands play nicely at the ball, good carry on throws across the diamond. Also pitched, loose arm action working to a three-quarters release point, simple operation with a slight coil to leg lift, gets extended down the mound. Worked around the zone with fastball, topped out at 83 mph and replicates well on changeup; feel for curveball will continue to develop. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a higher hand set, does a nice job of getting closed moving into contact. Quickness to hands and looseness to wrists, has an approach at the plate and connected for a long home run to pull side in live action. Repeats swing and looks to lift, stays short to the ball, shows carry coming off when squared. Very good student. Named to Fall Northeast Top Prospect List.
