2021 13U/14U Summer Gulf Coast Showcase
Dominick Patruno is a 2025 C/RHP/IF with a 5-11 172 lb. frame from Jacksonville, FL who attends Martin Luther. Strong athletic build with room to get stronger. Two-way prospect. Switch-hitter at the plate, looks like a natural right handed hitter with a fluid swing with good extension and some young bat speed, line drive swing plane, more of a scripted and grooved approach from the left side with less jump off the barrel. Primary catcher, has the physicality for the position, receives the ball well with strong hands, has good young arm strength with a long and loose arm action, can shorten up his release and footwork throwing. Also plays first base and has nice polished athletic actions at that position and can be an asset defensively there. 8.19 runner in the sixty. Has a rotational upper body delivery on the mound with a full arm action, has good control of his delivery and repeats it well. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, had the upper 70's whenever he wanted it but backed off to throw strikes under wet conditions showing maturity in his approach. Didn't throw a breaking ball but has the makings of a solid change up. Very good student. Named to the 13U/14U Summer Gulf Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.
